I know the forums often have hate/problems threads. But I wanted post a thread about how much I love my 2018 MacBook Pro 13". I have had it since new. Drag it daily to and from work. I do have a ghost shield on the keyboard and plastic case on the outside. It has been flawless. I came from a 2013 MacBook Air. No complaints. In fact, yesterday I slipped on our stairs and dropped it about 3 feet on hardwood stairs. I thought it was a toast. But it is perfect. Love it more and more everyday!

Thanks Apple! :)

Glad you like it. I think you'd probably find the vast majority of people do love their devices. These forums exist largely to discuss issues people have with their devices so you see a lot of negative in here.

I had a 2018 and loved everything about it but the keyboard. I came from a 2015 and just could not get adapted to the keyboard no matter how hard I tried. I even started taking those typing tests online to try and improve. I finally realized that it wasn't me, it was the keyboard and it just wasn't suited for my tastes. Outside of that I had it for nearly 2 years and didn't have a single problem with it.

Did you end up getting a Mac with a new keyboard? I've been using the 2018 for about two years myself now and while I find the laptop quite interesting as a design that completely conforms to aesthetic (keyboard, cooling, etc.), I really envy owners of the 16-inch MBP. Just seems like an all-around superior laptop.

With all that said, I can say that my overall satisfaction level with my 2018 MBP is very high, and I would definitely say I love it (this is also my first Mac! Windows seems like bad dream now) However I am ready to move on...

Same for me, I have the Touch Bar 13'' and I like it too much.

I am still in Mojava and may not upgrade for a while, Unless there is a really good future in a new OS upgrade.
For that reason I am not bothered by the 16 inch because you got stuck with Catalina there.

Yes, I immediately bought the 16" as soon as it was available. The keyboard was the single reason I bought it as I didn't have any other issues with the 2018 model, and loved it outside of the keyboard. I couldn't be happier with the 16" as for me, its everything my 2018 was but better and with a keyboard that I love to type on.

This happened to me too. Upgraded from the 2018 13" to the 16" just for the keyboard. Also, the trackpad has a slightly more noticeable thunky click to it which I like.

But it has its own problems. It's bigger, runs hotter, and I don't really need the extra power. In many ways other than the tactile interface the 13" was a much more balanced machine. I may eat the cost of the swapping and switch back whenever the 14" is out.

I may be in the minority but I enjoy my 2018 keyboard. I have a light touch when I type so the butterfly keyboard feels good to me. I would be lying if I said I didn't worry about longevity. I can't see myself upgrading any time soon.

+1 here but all of a sudden I got a dead pixel!?

Me too. I have the 15” 2018 and it’s awesome. No keyboard issues, plenty fast for my needs (office docs, presentations, and video editing).

If the butterfly keyboard has taught me anything, it's that I can sometimes be a pretty heavy typer, especially when I'm in certain moods haha. It can range for me between just fine if I remember to type gently, to painful within an hour if I'm typing a report I'm not in the mood to do. On the 16" I can whack away to my heart's content without too much pain 😂

I have a '17 and still love it! Keyboard is great, gorgeous screen, beautiful trackpad. Ideal now that many external devices are now USB-C.

Do you all thinks MacBook Pro 15" 2018 it's a good choice even now in 2020 and 4-5 years onwards?
