I just got a Magic Trackpad and am loving it!
I've always been a mouse person and only used a trackpad when using a laptop and didn't have a mouse to plug in. I just didn't dig trackpads.
When I ordered my Blue M1 iMac a few months back, I got it with the Magic Mouse. I really liked the mouse and didn't have any complaints about it. But I suddenly had to urge to try the Magic Trackpad, and I am glad I did. It is so much more convenient to use and the various swiping gestures are more robust than on the mouse. Only issue I have is that when doing a two fingers tap to simulate a right click, sometimes it doesn't work and I have to do it a second time.
One tip for everyone. If you have a 24" M1 iMac and you want to buy any of the matching colored accessories, like mouse, keyboard or trackpad, I found out you actually have to call AppleCare. The regular sales channel can't order the various colors of the devices. Also, if the AppleCare rep says they don't order it and wants to transfer you to sales, tell them they are wrong and they do indeed sell them. The first AppleCare rep said they didn't do ordering and transferred me to sales, and the sales rep told me no, AppleCare does the ordering for the colored accessories. So he did a warm transfer, and the second AppleCare rep took my order.
Also, I don't think they will sell the colored accessories to just anyone though. He asked for the serial number of my iMac, so it looks like they do that for verification to make sure you do own one.
