I tried uodating to iOS 7.0.4 today and my iPad refused, saying not enough free space. OK, I deleted some stuff and got the update working.

But I'm clueless as to what is hugging the space on my iPad.

Here's the Usage screen

There's about 850Mb worth of mails, not shown on this screen....

OK, there's a bunch of apps not appearing on this screenshot, but they use very few memory, and my quick total comes up to about 3.9GB, so around 4.8 GB max including the mails.

Am I wrong or is something sitting on unreported memory space??

What can I do?

Thanks for any good tips

I had the same problem. If you plug your ipad into iTunes on your computer, you will likely find there is a folder called "other" and that it is eating up all your space. What exactly causes this I'm not sure, and you can't just delete it either. Only way I found to correct the issue was reset my ipad as new and to just start over. If you search, you will find many others who had the same issue. BTW, that Other folder on my Air was eating up 10.5 gigs, so it can be a big issue.
