Looking for some help or insight.
I just noticed that whenever I have my speakerphone on the person on the other end can barely hear me.

I tried doing a test and found the following:

Normal calling without speakerphone - works fine and caller can hear me loud and clear.

As soon I turned on the speakerphone the caller can barely hear me. I have to speak very loud for them to hear me .

I don't believe it's an hardware issue. Seems like a software issue.

I have tried rebooting and hard reset and no change yet.

I have the exact same problem. My iPhone 4 is out of warranty so Apple won't cover it.

It can't be a hardware issue. Try using the voice memo app. Works perfectly! Now try recording video: Static and low volume.

This is most definitely an issue with iOS.

Had this same issue. Noticed it when I was using the video camera.
Was going to take it in but took a paper clip and cleaned out the noise cancelling mic up by the headphone jack. Works perfectly now.
I think if it gets plugged with junk, it can't function properly.

Kinda wish I didn't because I was hoping to get an exchange. Bit of a scratch on my screen! Oh well.

Hope that helps.
