Hi All,

First post here. I just purchased a second Macbook (2016 Macbook Pro i5 8gb 256gb) used off Amazon and recently ran an Octane V2 test on it. I'm getting a super low score of 6800 compared to my regular Macbook 2017 with a M3 processor which gets around 23000. I know not to rely on benchmarks too much but why would my less powerful M3 Macbook score 3 times higher on this test. Both tests were run on the same network / wifi connection. Thanks in advance for any insight into this.

Dumb question, same browsers, all the way to versions, plug ins, etc. Also, same systems settings. Also, what does Activity Monitor show is using the CPU? A new system will spend the first few days indexing for Spotlight.

Thanks for your response. More dumb questions to follow!
