Any idea why a router would get 20 feet before the signal drops to 30% and starts to drop off? It's a brand new linksys G router, connected to both macbook air and a cheap windows PC. It's 100% within 5 feet and by 20 feet its dropping off. I have tried unplugging wireless phones, etc google searching, changed channels, changed to WEP to WEP2 security to no security, reset the router and modem multiple times, updated everything....and still nothing. Is this something the cable company can solve? I tried an Apple router and had the SAME issues....it doesn't seem unique to the new linksys, the old linksys, or the apple router..its something off. Any ideas? I have been messing with it too long and i can't seem to find a solution.
I'm putting a call into linksys apparently theres 90 day support with a new router if I'm reading correctly..they also have a wireless network in person support contracted but I'm sure theres third party people that can be called to help with it? Anyone use a company to solve a problem like this?
