Low reception and battery usage question.

Hello ;

I have a guestion that I dont really understand. Where I live right now does have a low cell reception. Max 3 bars of EDGE and sometime when I open 3G it is same 3 bars(not generally 3 bars. Most of the time 1-2 bars) . I think when i am Edge and this low cell reception cause the the iphone to consume more energy to look for reception and drain battery faster ?

Second guestion of mine is that how can I understand the situation of my battery ? I can see the percentage but I want to know the health ,status of my battery. Any help ??

The lower the signal the more battery is used.

Turn off LTE(4g),turn off 3G and stay on EDGE only,otherwise the phoe is always looking for 3G or 4g and that is causing the battery drain.

Can't turn off 3G on newer iPhones.

Yes I forgot about that,but still turning off the 4g could significantly improve battery life especially like in his case there is no coverage.
