HomePod Lower Siri default volume

Hello,
I'm considering getting a HomePod mini and am wondering if it's possible to permanently make Siri's speaking volume lower. I generally prefer less loud volumes and would prefer Siri's volume to be as low as possible. I read that you can lower it but that it changes back after a while. Has there been a fix for this yet?

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I recently tried to lower my Siri volume on my Mini - and I think it did work. But it’s like there was an invisible volume floor it wouldn’t go below. I used “Set your volume to 3” and Siri said “This is as quiet as it gets.” But it’s remained there for me.
