Hi, I use an external sound card (long story) that happens to be really loud. When I'm dual booting into windows it's usually not that bad because I can use the control panel to lower the volume to a decent level, but on OS X I can't seem to get it low enough for the volume to be bearable. I tried the Apple Scripts people recommended for Lion but even putting the computer at 1% volume is still too loud. So what I was hoping to be able to do is make the Mac output at lower than the standard minimum volume.
Up until now I've just been adjusting the individual volumes on programs, but that's starting to get really annoying.
Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!
EDIT: Never mind! I found that you can fine tune audio settings in the Audio MIDI Setup app in the Utilities folder of Applications. While I wasn't able to make to go as low as I wanted, it's bearable now.
