LTE in AW doesn't after I sold iPhone

Hi!

I sold my old iPhone where I've got eSIM card. This phone was connected with my Apple Watch 8 LTE. I thought that if I sell iPhone I will be able to use SMS/Calls on Apple Watch for 2-3 days, before I buy new one. I already sold my iPhone and found out that even tho there is LTE connection on AW, I'm not receiving SMS nor I can send one.

I turned off/on AW - still nothing.

Any ideas why it's not working? I used to use AW for workouts and after left iPhone in home, AW worked without issues...

Did you unpair your AW from old phone and pair it to a new one?

No, I just erased old iPhone and I will buy new one in next 2 days. I thought that AW with LTE will be able to handle eSIM alone

Nope, needs to be paired to an iPhone.
You’re now going to have to reset the AW too and setup as new
