LTE turns off once battery crosses a certain threshold?

I've been doing some testing and I found out that my Verizon iPhone 5 will switch from LTE to 3G automatically around 46-48% and won't use LTE until the phone has more power. Any one experience this as well?

I'm at 22% battery on Verizon with LTE currently active.
