So why does everyone say that with LTE you will use more data than 3G? Besides Facetiming and the like, file sizes will remain the same regardless of your connection. Take iTunes Match for example. Streaming off of the cloud isn't going to use any more data on LTE than it did on 3G. The music files are still the same size, and the songs are still the same length. Am I missing something?
 
Imagine you were on a 15 minute break from school or work. On 3G, it might take you 15 minutes to look at all of your sites. However, on LTE, it might take you 10 minutes to look at all of those same sites since it is faster to load. Now what are you going to do with that extra 5 minutes you now have? Look at more sites of course! That's how you end up using more data.
 
You're on a bicycle (3G). You use it to go places (data).

You upgrade to a motorcycle (LTE). You're now capable to go to a lot more places faster, more often. Results in using more data.
