LTE watch and HomeKit

Can you set automations in HomeKit based on an LTE watch arriving home instead of just your phone? I don’t always take my phone to the gym but would like my watch to prompt me to unlock the door when I return... so that might be the difference maker between getting an LTE version when I upgrade...

Siri should automatically take your location from your Watch if it is apart from your phone, and that should mean HomeKit triggers work off you personally leaving rather than just your phone.

My personal experience is that this is patchy at best...
