I have searched but can't see why I don't seem to get emails in LTE mode. I've had my phone out of zone, had it turned on, had it turned off. Now I read the phone has to be on a network even if your Watch is connected via LTE for some connections. How half baked is that?
Why can't I get emails? Does the mirror function on settings need to mirror phone or no?
I'm considering going back to a Series 2. LTE functions does not seem as robust or stand alone as I thought it would be. I know I'm still in the learning curve but it should be simpler.. phone off or out of range, LTE on the watch should take over all connecting... ugh.

Email works for me on LTE as long as my phone is either on WiFi or LTE somewhere. It has to be on because how some email (Exchange is a perfect example) use a generated device ID to push email too. Since email is technically not setup directly on the watch, it’s pulling from the phone. I’ve had no issues, lag yes, but not bad.

I actually leave my phone home now. I don’t take it with me at all. The watch isn’t a standalone device yet. I’ve gone entire day on LTE with no problems.
