Our VXA tape drive is on it's way out. Tapes are getting ridiculously expensive as the supply dwindles. So I'm looking at some LTO-4 options.

We have a 2.3 GHz PowerMac G5 with an ATTO ExpressPCI UL5D SCSI card. We have Retrospect V.6 and V.8 (8 would never see our clients - so I reverted back to 6).

We've migrated away from using tape for our workstation backups - it is only used to archive final, finished projects. Once a week the contents of our completed folder on our file server is dumped to two tape sets. One on-site, one off-site. We typically deal in fairly large files, so the back up sizes can get upwards of a 100GB.

I'm looking at LTO drive options from Quantum, HP and Tandberg. Anyone with any advice or experience?
