So I am at the airport waiting for my plane and sharing a plug with some one, I don't know who cause they weren't here when I got here, who has left their bag here unattended far as I can tell with their iphone plugged in (in plain sight).

I say he's lucky cause the phone is still there (and I'm not the type to steal).

That and I thought you weren't supposed to leave your bag unattended.

(and yeah, I'm bored, but that's what free wi-fi and my macbook is for *grin*).

Where are you exactly? I'll come pick it up!

As I said, he's lucky, I'm not the type to steal (or help some one else steal it) :p.

Still... it's been here way longer than I'd ever feel comfortable leaving my phone unattended and not locked up or in my house.

Haha! I know I know, just messin'

He really is a crazy person though. What dumbo would do that?

Or may it's the OP's girlfriend's dad. And it's a test of his character :0

Uh, I'm a girl and I'm not lesbian :p.

And yeah, I wonder about the tic toc thing (I know they say you are supposed to report unattended bags. And it's still unattended at the moment. I mean I've seen some unattended bags before but I don't think I've seen them left alone this long though I can only prove five minutes so far cause I don't know how long it was before I got here and I didn't check my clock when I got here, only after I posted this).

Oops, my bad. lol.

If it's a white 32GB GSM iPhone I say you grab it quick, white the whole thing, trash the SIM and give it a new IMEI and call it yours. /evil side

But in all seriousness I would go ahead and just walk 10 meters away from it so when it blows up you don't die...that or report it if it's still unattended...I dont get why people ever set ANYTHING down outside of a comfortable environment...it's just dumb. I hate hearing the "I left my phone at X!!!" just keep it in your pocket!!

Lucky indeed, stupid, but lucky.

Never ceases to amaze me how dumb some people are. I can't believe how many of my old-enough-to-know-better friends do stuff like this.

I don't have that kind of luck. LOL If I did something that dumb, my phone would take a walk with some lucky stranger.

Checking where he went to sit he did have a friend attending it (he's sitting now and talking with some guy that is some feet away). Still... from that far, would his friend really be able to stop a grab and run?

You really should have reported it, it is foolish for folks to leave their things unattended and it is everyones responsibility in public places like these to be vigilant.

It's more foolish to overreact and cause a panic.

How does simply alerting an official at the airport about a bag that has been left unattended cause a panic. i am not saying she should have ran screaming down the hallway "i found an unattended bag". If everyone were a little more aware of their surroundings and willing to get involved and take some responsibility for their own safety then maybe we would not feel the need to give up more and more of our rights in the name of safety.

But it is just my opinion.

Agreed 100%. The "It's obviously not my problem" is the root of so many human social problems but I won't rant on here about that.

Alerting the authorities doesn't cause the panic.

It's the authorities that will cause the panic. Clear the entire terminal, bring in the bomb squad, have everybody re-screened... all because someone charged a phone and was not sitting on top of their bag.
