So i just saw this deal and picked one up to use primarily on WiFi and as an "iPod" and GPS.

1) Can i get this unlocked to use on T-Mobile? This is my current carrier.
and
2) Can i get the 8.1 update on WiFi?

Thanks! My first Windows phone, I figured for the price it would be fun to play around with.

*Lumia* spelt it wrong!

You can get unlock codes for the 520 easy enough on eBay and other phone unlock sites.

Yes you can get 8.1 on WiFi - if the 520 supported to 8.1

My wife snagged for 15.99 lightning deals few weeks ago.
You can upgrade to 8.1, takes forever though.
You will get the 10 update too.
Its a great phone, for the price.

Snag it! You will like the OS

It's a great little phone for the price. So is the Lumia 635. It's $50 but you get more bang for your buck.

Yeah, now I have both for backups with my business line. The lumia 635 is nice and the reviews are pretty good for the 520. I mean, for these prices, you can't go wrong. Cortana is very well done. Since they don't have the processing power, Hey Cortana is probably out. Still, they are solid.

Gotta wonder how Nokia is making any money on these phones.

I ended up buying the Nokia 635. It was also on sale. My total came out to $35. Not bad at all.
