Hi all,
Does anyone know how this is supposed to work?
I have recently brought the new Panasonic Lumix TZ40 camera. It has a Wifi function that I can connect easily to my iphone and iPad. But I'm damned if I can get it connected to my MBA. I have followed the "Basic" instruction manual to no avail. The manual says to create a shared folder, this I have done. When I enter my router details into the camera I can get a connection. Then it asks me for to choose the Computer that I want to connect with. This I have to enter manually as the list is empty. Once entered it asks for the username and password. Then I hit a brick wall with "Username/Password incorrect"

The second method is wifi direct where the camera acts as a router. So I switch connection to the camera which is successful. Then the brick wall with a "No Shared folder" message.

I'm pretty stumped and am not getting anywhere via Panasonic support who said "We don't support Apple Mac" to which I drew their attention to the page in the manual with the instructions for a mac. I'm now waiting for them to get back to me but its so far been 5 days and nothing.

Is there anyone here with experience of this?
Sorry for the long post and thanks for taking the time to read it, that's assuming you get this far ;)
Many thanks

I don't have one of these cameras so this is just a guess. They might be expecting an SMB share on your computer, so if you haven't done so already, share the folder via SMB.

I have the same problem as you describe. Did you solve yours?

Thank you.

Hello,

I'm having the same problem, has anyone figured this out?

I have tried changing the NetBIOS name and I've gone into
Preferences > Sharing and I've changed the local computers name. No joy.

I know this thread is old but I still use my Lumix ZS40. It is my favorite camera. My issue is when I get to the shared folder choice in the wifi setup, if I choose a folder that has already been used in a previous setup "can not find shared folder". I can not reconnect using previously used shared folders.

I have to create another folder with a new name and share it. Then Lumix finds it.

Why can I not reconnect to a shared folder.
