My first app just got accepted on the app store, so I'm pretty excited. Just wanted to post in here to get some suggestions and feedback on my first app.

These are the main features i've put in so far...
  • Download Manager
  • Fullscreen support
  • Passcode Protection
  • Tabbed Browsing
  • File Manager

I'm looking for new features to add, and general things to improve. So if anyone has suggestions, post them!

no way!

i thought this was a text browser and was all excited. how could someone name their browser lynx and not be "lynx"!?

ugh. well, i don't really get what distinguishes you from the other browsers. why would i purchase this instead of icab mobile, for example?

anyhow, good job getting an app made and accepted. i would consider the text mode thing, though :)

A play on the name.....you must be young....Lynx was an early text-based browser for the web.

Ah, I didn't know there's another browser with the same name... Just done a quick google search to find it, hope I don't get into any copyright issues.

no adblocker = no joy
Ad block functionality is definitely on my to-do list, so it should be included with the next update.

I've just changed the name to Omega. Now just got to wait for apple to accept the update and hope I don't get bad reviews in the mean time

Ah, the good old lesson of "do your research on the name before using it". Could be worse, I learned that one by having one of my apps removed from the store :D

I think a quick name change is wise - Lynx (the original) is quite well known, so a lot of your potential customers are going to see the name and either think "Lynx?! Not in this century!" or "Cool! Text mode! Wait, where's the text mode?!".

Good luck with it anyway :)

Things to consider: Is it faster than Safari? Does it have Flash? And... Something I haven't seen, but idk if it is possible.. Can you put in Microsoft Silverlight?

I've just updated to support iPhone/iPod Touch and the retina display for the new iPad, and also added URL completion. The next update will bring Ad Block and other features.

Because its now available on the iPhone, Im not sure if it's ok if I post a thread about my app on the iPhone App thread? I don't know whether mods would delete it because one is already on the iPad App forum? Any one know?

Not sure on the double ipad/iphone threads, but I suggest letting this one die and opening a new one with your next update because the title is now wrong :)

Wow. I thought someone had actually ported Lynx to the iPad. That would have been awesome with the NuiPad's text rendering quality!

I can't believe the Internet has been around so long now that people old enough to write quality programs for it aren't familiar with its roots! :)

If you have problems with the Omega name too, "Mosaic" might be a cool name for a web browser. :)
