hi

I have latest version of all software, iTunes, iPod/iPhone software, Snow Leopard etc.

I put lyrics on my songs in iTunes. can see them in >get info fine,. However I transfer them to my daughters ipod nano 4G, my iPhone 3GS and some are not showing, others in the same album are but random songs are not.

Why is this? is it something I'm doing? its just copied and pasted into the lyrics of the song.

I've just got Now 76, got the lyrics, shows up in iTunes fine, synced to iPhone, but none show. I did a "get info" and found some files in my library had read only for certain users, so I done a read and write on the whole iTunes Music folder, re-synced but the same problem.

cheers

settings -> ipod -> Lyrics and podcast info -> on

this is for the iphone running iOS 4...dont know if thats the case on the ipod or previous iOS versions

also check to see that lyrics and info sync over in itunes.

Didnt know about this option, but it was on anyway, and also other songs on iPhone are showing lyrics

Unsure what you mean by this please... but if I click on my iPhone when its mounted in iTunes, and click on the song it also shows the lyrics in the iPhone list of music yes

Tried everything I know, anyone help? or explain why some work, some dont please?

Just bought a MP3 tagger program called Jaikoz. it displays all Mp3 ID3 tags. I checked some of the MP3 files for the "missing" lyrics and Jaikoz shows that the actual MP3 files do indeed have the lyrics embedded, so this must mean to me thats its iTunes, iPhone/iPod or sync problem?

anyone?

MrMister....when playing a song on your ipod (or iphone)...tap the screen once to toggle the lyrics to appear or not.

it should bring up the lyrics if you've enabled the "lyrics" function as earlier users suggested.

The answer after much messing about!!!

The reason you can't get the lyrics on your iPhone/iPod is due to the software used to encode the MP3. A lot of MP3s seem to be encoded by LAME so you just need to convert them to AAC by right clicking the MP3 in iTunes and click convert. The MP3 will stay the same but will create a second file in the iTunes folder.
