Have any of you found any M.2 enclosures, even the cheaper USB 3.1 Gen 2 ones (there's a ton on Amazon),
that are able to keep the drive cool, or just run it cooler? Any recommendations?

Also interested in feedback from those that have used any of these enclosures:

My take:
There's something in nvme design that produces a great deal of heat.
Some enclosures may help to dissipate some of this heat better than others.
But the heat is still going to "be there".

It's "the fundamental design", more than "the execution"...

The OWC enclosure you linked is a very bad value proposition. It only leverages 2x of the 4x available PCIe lanes. It’s 2-3x the cost of USB-C enclosures, with only a 50%(at most) gain in throughput.

I'm happy with this one so far...

It has a small fan (quiet... cannot hear it when it's running). Under heavy load, temperature stays in the 40-45C range (no idea if that's good or not, since this is my first TB enclosure).
