m.2 SSD xp941 vs sm951

im trying to source a bootable m.2 ssd for my Mac Pro 5.1 and have twice ordered AHCI Sm951s and twice been sent the NVME version.

Would the older xp941 be any different? Seems the Mac pro's PCI 2 slots would bottleneck the SM951 anyway??

XP941 is slower, and is not bottlenecked by PCIe v2.0.

SM951 is faster, but is bottlenecked to (at maximum) ~1,500Mbps read/write.
