So I just sold my Bose setup and Bose headphones to acquire these incredible studio monitors - the M-Audio BX8 D2's. I've had studio monitors before, and I'm not sure why I decided to get Bose a few years ago instead of a proper hi-fi or studio monitor setup.
Anyways, M-Audio just came out with their new Carbon series, so as with anything in the pro audio world, once it's discontinued it gets heavily discounted.
These monitors -
Absolutely stunning. Incredible imaging. Almost unreal. You can hear a pin drop with these. Superbly accurate and neutral, with outstanding bass response.
Build quality is superb. I really dig the kevlar woofers and all svelte black and silver design, with blue power light.
Only downside with these so far that I've noticed is that they buzz, audibly, but it's pretty faint. When there's some kind of background noise, even super faint, the buzz pretty much disappears, but it IS noticeable sometimes, and somewhat distracting. However when audio is playing it's a non issue. Hopefully I'll be able to tune it out when it is audible.
I was able to price match Guitar Center (long time customer of them, good company) with Zzounds as Zzounds offers a payment plan -
Well - I was going to post a link to GC's $109 deal on these $299 monitors, but it looks like GC is out of them, or discontinued the sale.

Even at $299 these would be a steal. Just thought I'd post the sale here if anyone's interested, as I bet these will be gone soon.
Using an M-Track II interface as well, very solid all metal build with quality feeling pots.
EDIT - Selling my other audio gear included getting $250 stands, cables, audio interface etc. Totally worth it. Other audio gear was Bose system - at the time I thought I just wanted a playback system, but even then I don't think I'll be going back to Bose. Such a "sculpted" and artificially blown out sound. Sounded lively and pretty revealing, but I'm glad I'm back with studio monitors - a much more revealing and accurate sound. Had KRK's before, and those were awesome.
