M1 Affinity Photo Performance

Is anyone else experiencing horrible performance on Affinity Photo? It keeps beach balling every couple of minutes for me, even on a 100x100 image with no layers. Meanwhile Photoshop and Illustrator with more layers and work done have no issues.

Tried on both a Mac Mini and iMac.
