Just ordered M1 16Gb MBP 1TB to replace my i7 2015 rMBP 13. However, I still consider the same spec 8/8 MBA as it seems a better value machine. I keep hearing people pushing the MBA but I still wonder how it would take 4k video 1-2h Davinci Resolve color grading or some Fusion? Has anyone tried working on it for some time (not just 5 min cuts, and then jumping to the export) and 10-20% more render time due throttling seems ok, still pretty fast!
Don’t really care about other differences: better mics, speakers, bigger trackpad, and apparently some different feeling of the keyboard. Ofc, battery and screen are appreciated, however, the major factor would be the ability to edit a video without any hiccups.
