Hi all, new member here.
I last used a mac during late 90's-very early 2000. The reason I changed to windows was because work used proprietary programs. I never really was a gamer so that was my reason to change.
Covid hits and we had to change our business model to online only, and at the time the software we used required a lot of storage locally. Since the beginning of this year we finally decided this is where we will stay, we will not be returning to our old model (large numbers of live customers) and remain online only. As a result of this local storage is now of no consequence to me. We changed earlier this year to a browser based cloud software solution. Performance in photo editing and spreadsheet work is most important.
I think I might be very happy with a M1 Air 16GB ram and 256 SSD. But not sure. I currently use a W10 desktop and like the performance (i5-10600k, 1660GPU and 16 GB ram. I also have a little over 6 GB of various SSD/HDD storage, but as stated, that is no longer a concern.

R Would a M1 Air suit me just as well as a M2Air? Would either make me as happy performance wise as my desktop? Or would a Pro model do that? Reason I ask is I don't give a frak about benchmarks, I work on mine and really loved the OS back when I had my macs. TY in advance.
PS: Would a Mac Mini do what I need? I really have no reference between any Macs now.
