M1 external drive issue

I have weird issue, my WD passport drive is seen and works fine in my Intel Mac mini but when I plug in my new M1 Mac it mounts and shows up in finder but it shows no files completely empty. back to my intel Mac it everything shows up fine.
Any ideas?
