I currently have an M1 iMac with 512SSD/8gb RAM (Model MGPL3LL/A)

I'm considering getting another one, but upgrading the RAM for a configuration of 512SSD/16gb RAM.

Will I be able to use the power cord from my current M1 iMac (512/8 RAM) for the new M1 iMac (512/16 RAM)? Or is there a difference with the power cords?

Thanks

Don't see any reason why it wouldn't work... but curious about why it's an issue... the new iMac will come with a new power cord.

Cable management/behind desk is very difficult to undo. I’d prefer to keep using the original cable haha.

Does anyone happen to know the answer? I can’t imagine any of the M1 iMacs have a different power cord spec…the only difference would be color.

Just wondering if anyone else who has multiple units could take a look?

All 24" iMacs come with the same 143W Power Adapter, which is more than enough for all low-power M-series chips. The only difference besides color is the missing Ethernet port on the adapter of the 7-core entry level iMac.

RAM and SSD don’t use a lot of power regardless of their size. If you increase screen brightness or charge your Magic Mouse the power draw is much higher.

Can’t imagine that you couldn’t use the same power cord.
