Earth (for now)
I have an original 2009 Magic Mouse and a 2009 Apple Wireless Keyboard that I got with a 2010 iMac. Will they work with an M1 Mac mini? I seem to recall them not being officially supported, but I'm curious to know first hand experiences with the M1 Macs running Big Sur and Monterey.

Sure they will work. They are wired (I assume) so you'll simply need to plug them into the USB ports, just like any other keyboard or mouse.
No, the Magic Mouse is Bluetooth. It's model A1296 from 2009.

As for the keyboard, I have the wrong name. It's also Bluetooth, but it's called an Apple Wireless Keyboard, and it's the third generation, A1314 from 2009. (It's the 2015 model that's called the Magic Keyboard.)

I have updated the thread title accordingly.

OK, but still I am 99.9% confident they will work just fine, whether wireless or wired.

I'm guessing that you are planning to buy a mini, and want to know if you need to order a new keyboard and mouse as well?

Another way to check would be to initiate a chat with Apple on their website, and ask them directly. But my belief is that any mouse or keyboard is pretty much universal and can be paired with whatever device you are using it with.

Yes, I'm considering buying a M1 or M1X Mac mini.

The reason I ask is interestingly, my original 2009 Magic Mouse does NOT work properly with my 2007 Mac Pro running 10.11 El Capitan. Ironically, my 2015 Magic Mouse 2 works with it.

Both work fine with my 2017 iMac running Big Sur.

Interesting. I'm still thinking it should work. Take a look at this support article, specifically the section "How to set up earlier Apple wireless devices":
