I received my new M1 Mac Mini this afternoon and plugged it into my 55" 4KHDR TV which I have been using in glorious 4K HDR with both my PS4 and APPLETV4K.

The problem is that the M1 Mac mini is only displaying up to 1080p60 and doesn't seem to be detecting the 4K or HDR capabilities of the TV?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Try a different cable.
HDMI cables are notorious for quality.

Even the HDMI cable supplied brand new with my Samsung does not register the correct resolution.

I had to use a MonoPrice HDMI cable in order to get the full resolution.

I've tried 3 (noted I don't think any of them were particularly expensive) but its strange that the same cables pick up the 4K HDR on PS4 and ATV4K

I am having the same issue. I have an Apple TV 4K and I used that cable, but the samething I can only get 1080p60. Bought a new high speed cable tested with other 4K equipment and it works with the other stuff but not the Mac mini. Have you found out a solution?

No still only seems to be seeing a 1080p60 display the same, even with a new expensive high-speed cable. I have a feeling it may be the TV as opposed to the Mac mini (as in it may work perfectly on another TV) but its annoying to not know how to fix the issue

Is there a setting you can change on your TV that may use the full 4K ?

I know that some 4K monitors need to change HDR HDCP settings to be compatible.
