Where I am
Curious if anyone has upgraded from an M1 Mac Mini to an M4 Mac Mini.
My MM M1 (had it since release), only has 8GB of memory. And honestly, that is the only reason I am even considering upgrading to the M4.

For day to day use, browsing the internet, using quicken, Office products, and VPN to access an RDP, worth the upgrade?

Yes, although, I’m doubtful my experience and choices will aid yours much.

I primarily did it because, at the time, Apple offered a decent trade in value. Second reason is that I want, have been trying to transition more workflow to software development, photography, and videography. However, they aren’t the bread winner positions, therefore, the regular paying employment is priority and holds the others back.

Anyway...

My MM M1 (had it since release), only has 8GB of memory. And honestly, that is the only reason I am even considering upgrading to the M4.

By the way, my M1 config was 16GB of RAM and 512GB storage.

P.S. I’m aware my recent Mac config is probably over specced by at least one tier.

I've been looking hard at the M4 Minis. I'm leaning toward replacing my M1 Min 16gb/1tb with an M4 Pro 12/16/16 Mini, 64gb/1tb.

The brokerage programs love to use RAM lol. My M1 Mini really began struggling about a year ago and 64gb would really be useful.

I had an alternate use for my M1 so replaced it with a M4 Pro. Definite overkill but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I could afford it, so why not?
