Has anyone with M1 machine (MBP/MBA/iMac) updated to Tahoe?

My M1 iMac has been updated to Tahoe. I found that the common dialogue (pop-up) box's animation is very jittery (Framerate drops to around 30fps). Quick Preview is stuttering, not smooth at all. Besides, Adobe AI, ID performance are bad, extremely stuttering during panning and zooming objects.

Are these issues existing in high-end machines such as M2-M4, Pro/Max, etc...?

However the Magic Mouse scrolling behavior is excellent and Safari is much snappier than previous versions. The new UI is too beautiful.

My M1 Pro has similar issues when using Mission Control. Considering the same workload was present in Sequoia and the animations were smooth I'm inclined to think it's a bug. It also got better updating from the RC -> final, which tells me it's something Apple's working on. DIssapointing but I've seen the same stuff happen before many years ago on both iOS 7 (iPhone 4) and with OS X Lion. So hoping for an update which will resolve this.

Report it as a bug, though!

On my MacBook Pro M1 with 64GB of RAM, I’m experiencing an issue where the Dock freezes for about 2–3 minutes. After that time, the Dock unfreezes and I can launch applications from the bar. Interestingly, sometimes just clicking on an application in Stage Manager is enough to make it respond.

Hi everybody! Also for an M1, 8GB RAM, 256 GB SSD - can you please confirm the total space on disk occupied after the upgrade and the battery performance and life? Thank you so much to all!

Both M1 Macs are excelling with Tahoe, 8GB as everything works better than Monterey-Seq.
2 things I need to alter is log-in bypass and that chime did not go off when I opened the lid on the MBA m1.
Cupertino finally realized a nice, snappy attractive OS!

I know this is an M1 thread, but the Quick Look animation stutters even on my M2. All of the other animations seem fine, though.
It doesn't actually matter m1 ot m4 ultra, as even m1 has 1000+ performance headroom for those flat 2d UI tasks.

I'm on an M4 iMac and I've seen some clunkiness as well. Had a Finder window freeze up for a good 30 seconds yesterday right after install. In my experience, this is not unusual right after a big OS update. Hopefully it settles down when the machine is done indexing and optimizing everything.

reboot and see after restart

It also seems more memory hungry by about 20%. M1 Max with similar graphics lag. I hope they resolve this. Absolutely unnecessary bloat. I am NOT a drum banger for planned obsolescence in fact I think those people are stupid its technology after all and if they let M1 Macs perform this way I will be disgusted.

Updated my M1 Macbook Air and the performance downgrade is quite noticeable. All animations are stuttering (maximizing windows and quick preview are the most noticeable).

I hope this is improved on the next dot releases.

I think it's slower on my M1

When I open Settings, I can see the window populates. System monitor is also slower to populate. Opening the clipboard history of Keyboard Maestro is slower. I have AI disabled, reduced animation enabled. Using out of the box transparency settings.

Wi-Fi is broken on my M1 MBA after the upgrade.

Broadcom BCM4378 chipset
Driver: IO80211_driverkit-1525.88 with firmware from July 11, 2025.

Connects to Wi-Fi and Hotspots, gets DHCP lease with correct IP/gateway/DNS, but cannot reach gateway or any network hosts. Rebooting, forgetting network, etc. do not resolve.
