Hi. Working from home, I use a 2019 16-in. MacBook Pro connected to an LG Ultra external display via USB-C. The monitor looks great.
I recently purchased an M1 MacBook Pro, but when I connect it to the same monitor, the external display is very bright and lacks contrast. I've messed with brightness settings, calibrations, ColorSync Utility, and even copied the LG Ultra HD color profile (.icc) from the 2019 computer to the M1, and still have poor results.
Does anyone have any experience with this?
One important note: when I look into the LG monitor settings, all the settings are the same when I connect both monitors, except one:
Black Level
When the 2019 MBP is connected —Black Level: High
When the M1 MBP is connected — Black Level: Low
The problem is, I can't switch the setting because it is greyed out.
Please let me know if there is anything I can try — thanks!
