Hi everyone,

I've just noticed my M1 MacBook Pro has really strange backlight bleed (I think it's backlight bleed??), do you think this is bad enough to get it replaced/fixed by the Genius Bar? I have AppleCare+ on the Mac. It seems pretty significant, however it looks quite different to other incidents of backlight bleed I've had in the past. It looks quite odd to me.

Do you think I should make an appointment at the Genius Bar to get it looked at? My local genius bar isn't that good and the employees there are really finicky about things like this (they refused to do anything about an iPhone screen that was literally yellow, saying it was a 'user perception issue' or something like that, even after I compared it to a display iPhone where the difference was extremely noticeable).

This doesn't look normal to me.

I think, this will be visible when watching Films eg.
My MBA M1 has better uniformity and no such visible backlight bleeding and so the MBP should IMO.
If you are still within the return period, return it.
In a later warranty case it will be "just within the specs".
