Hello, I'm pretty new here so forgive me if this is in the wrong forum. I just got a MBA M1 and have ordered a usb-c hub to connect it to my monitor and keyboard/mouse. I wanted to be able to charge it through the hub so I got a PD (Power Delivery) hub. I purchased the Lention CB-D55. It ships from China and I believe the company is based in China but they seems to have good reviews and positive customer support.

My question is about safety when using a PD hub. There is some talk about this in a thread over in the M1 forums but I felt I needed a little more consensus. A few post over on reddit claim their hub bricked their macbook and they link to a case on the official apple forums.

Anyway, I am starting a poll here to see how many people use a PD hub with their Macbook and if they have had problems.

Here is a link to the reddit thread if you're interested.

I had a Mac book pro. It broke after a week or two (and I wasn't using it with a power delivery hub early on)

I got a replacement, it broke within 3 hours of being connected to a USB-C hub with power delivery.

It's a pain to have a USB-C hub in one port (With keyboard and mouse connected) and power into another port. This leaves you pretty much zero expansion... two ports are simply not enough!

i had the kogan 5 in 1 usb c thunderbolt passthrough hub and it bricked my mac. fried my logic board, happy to post proof if you want
