Here's my predicament: I have a 2019 16" MBP 64GB RAM 1TB SSD. It's great for the most part. I love that it HAS never used swap despite me keeping 40-50 Chrome tabs open. But my base M1 MBA is my favorite machine and it's made me an Apple Silicon believer. I've seen videos on the higher powered M1 and M2 machines and it's amazing to see apps open instantaneously. What I really want to do is get an M3 Max MBP when it comes out but I also want to sell my 16" Intel MBP while the resale value is still relatively high. If I can sell my Intel machine for a reasonable price, I can buy an M2 machine, use it for a year until the M3s are out.
Given these choices, what would you get and why?
1. M1 Max (10/32) Macbook Pro 64GB RAM 2TB SSD $2600
2. M2 Pro (12/19) Mac Mini 32GB RAM 1TB SSD $2000
3. M2 Max (12/30) Mac Studio 64GB RAM 1TB SSD $2340
I love the discount on the M1 Max but the M2 machines have WiFi 6E and a slightly faster SSD.
