M1 max - Mac studio poor render performance

Greetings,
I just got Hit Paw video enhancer and upscaled a 20 minute 1080 video to 4k. High quality setting. It took my Mac 9 hours and 40 minutes to complete. It seems like that is excessive. Anyone else use or have experience with this program? Is there something that can be done to speed this up? I've heard windows machines have GPU acceleration. Is that doable on the Mac?

That's an Intel app. Maybe it isn't optimised for apple silicon?
