Hi,

I'm thinking of getting a new MacBook Pro. I need external display support, preferably 3 monitors.
I know the Max can support three 6k + one 4K, but I don't need the cpu power of the Max in my laptop.

Apple says that the M1 Pro officially supports two 6k/XDR displays.
Can someone with an M1 Pro confirm if it can handle more external displays, such as three 4k's since it has three TB4 ports?
Specifically, I want it to support one 5K and two 4k displays, which I think should actually be less pixels than driving two 6K's.
Or is this a chip limitation of the M1 Pro to only allow two monitors regardless of the pixels?

Thanks.

Bump to see if someone has had a chance to test M1 Pro display abilities

Not a pixel-number problem. It was tested below, and I think a couple other places, all resulting in only two monitors working. There were workarounds used for earlier MBPs to hook up extra monitors, the details of which I don't recall, but so far no one I've seen has pointed one out for these new MBPs.

If you want to save some money, you can get the 24-core Max, which should allow four monitors.
