hello
i just got my macbook m1 today. and i noticed when someone calls me on my iphone while macbook lid is closed, my macbook rings ! display is turned off... and sleeping ? if i ping macbook ip it does reply(from another pc)! so its sleeping and connected to wifi ?
i upgraded from a macbook pro 2018 and sleep was... sleep(disconnect from wifi and so on)
this one stays some sort of awake! just like an iphone ? also when awake ping is 2/3ms and when on sleep it has 300/800ms !
is this normal ?

Of course! You have 8 cores in your CPU, four performance and four efficiency cores. The machine uses efficiency cores to perform tasks while "asleep" like keeping your email updated and other things that were called Power Nap on Intel machines. There is very little hit to the battery and very high utility for the user.

i see.. so its just like my iphone "on standby" ! Thank you. i tried to search online but didnt get a good reply to my question.

go system settings > battery > options and unselect "wake for network access" if you do not prefer this behaviour
