Xander’s M1 Air running Assassins Creed Odyssey. No doubt this M1 is capable and can run all day but the lack of x86 BootCamp support and Crossover 20 at early stage the Intel Mac’s will still be the better value.

Completely off topic. But that audio was trippy. Watching the video wearing AirPods Pro, and it sounds like the audio is coming from my Air M1 speakers.

It’s incredible just like 16” MacBook Pro 5600m can game without being plugged in not like any other PC gaming laptop. Unplugged performance!

I’ve been a pc gamer my whole life. I have a monster of a pc desktop too. My first ever Mac computer, was this M1 Air. I love the machine too.

I have (2) power modded 2080Ti’s running at 2,175Mhz each on XOC bios, on Full coverage ekwb water blocks with (3) 360mm radiators, and I am still playing on my M1 preferably out of convenience alone haha.

Just one of the 2080Ti’s running 2,175Mhz/16,400 memory will bench right with a stock RTX3080. Or around 30% beyond an RTX3070. So yeah, it’s fast! Being able to play games wherever, while also unplugged is a very nice option to have. And the M1 can actually do it pretty smoothly !

I play rust totally unplugged only M1 Air 16GB/1TB, with some very heavy graphic settings too. Butter smooth performance. I leave the frame rate capped at 32FPS for the sale of battery life and extended playtime. It runs amazingly well.

IT'S NOT THE M1 RUNNING THE GAME.

You can clearly see it's Nvidia Now, it even says that at the end of the benchmark (running on Windows on a Tesla GPU). The M1 GPU is noticeably faster than iGPUs in Intel Macs, but it's only barely usable for modern games.
I see that now in that video above. However,

The old intel iGPU's were barely useable. The M1 is actually useable lol. You can actually game with an M1. (Reduce the graphics) and roll on.

Where an iGPU would get around 8-10FPS in a graphically intensive game. The M1 has offered 3-4 times the performance or even more in real world usage. This allows us to runs games at 30-40FPS. Or even 60+ FPS with low graphics. (That is useable)

Now I am with you. I love performance too. I play at 165FPS/165HZ. I have a desktop to push this kind of power..

What do you think happens to a high end gaming laptop when it is unplugged? The frame rate immediately drops to 30FPS. So if the M1 is delivering this while unplugged, it is very impressive.

This is the future. If the M1X brings double the performance of the M1, then we will actually begin to scratch the surface of real gaming on laptops without massive power consumption.

Being able to play a some what demanding PC game on steam, while getting that 30+ FPS, while unplugged, while I draw about 10-12 watts of power is insane. Don’t forget without a fan. Sure its no power house gaming beast. But the M1 CPU is a monster, and the 8 core iGPU model with 16GB of ram will throw down in some games. I speak from experience. I'm not a fanboy or anything like that, I have a desktop that slams this thing easily. Not to mention this was my first Mac of my life. (It is useable for gaming is all I'm saying)
