That’d be a nice surprise!Delays in 16".... My inner magic 8 ball says "Signs point to yes"
It may be possible that Apple adopted the newer USB PD standard that increase 100W output to 240W. Or they can still maintain ~96W but uses GaN tech to make it more compact. Some chargers are also not available or have delayed shipping. I would bet they’ll announce them sometime this month, but I guess we’ll find out soon if it’s next week.

Nope, the 16-inch has been unavailable for pickup for a few weeks now. Remember a few weeks ago Apple decided to stock additional colors of iMac in their retail stores.
If it were coming soon, Apple wouldn’t be shipping 16-inch stock configs for delivery in 1-2 weeks.
But that is how it is gonna happen. You get an slightly upgraded M1 chip with a modified name.I don’t hope for M1X but M2X.
I didn’t wait for more than a year just to have a M1 with more cores slapped onto it.
The Mac Pro is also saying exactly 2-3 weeks for every single configuration which is a bit weird. Either we're going to get the mother of all events or it's just supply chain issues.
Hope they bring out a souper douper Mac mini , I’d definitely get one .
Apple will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of their first MacBooks on October 21. Would really be special if they released these new ones in that date. Not sure they would do a Thursday event, but it would be super Cool.
That’s the second time I’ve seen the PowerBook 100 referenced today, not that I’m complaining. I had one as a kid, and it was great. Years later, people were so anti-trackball for gaming, but with proper skills you can own anyone.Apple will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of their first MacBooks on October 21. I think that they'll be shipping quite soon after launch. You're correct that there were huge shipping times for the M1, but that was a result of high demand. Apple launched the M1 on November 10. I ordered mine for collection from my local Apple store on November 17 and picked it up the same day. These Mac’s will ship next year most likely given the current climate.
The M1 Mac’s also had huge shipping times.

i'd say they're going to make it more compact. with apple silicon being more power efficient than intel-chips i see no reason to increase wattage-limits.It may be possible that Apple adopted the newer USB PD standard that increase 100W output to 240W. I've noticed that Apple design direction is towards more portable chargers
