Received my M2 Air 16/256/8 unit on Monday. Love the design and form factor. I haven't had a Mac in quite some time so getting reacquainted with the unit and OS.

Question - When downloading Apple OS and App updates, I've noticed that it's significantly slower than when I download iOS and App updates on my iPhone. Is that normal? When surfing the net, speeds seem to be fine. Did a speed test at home and was getting solid upload/download times. Downloading Monterey 12.5 right now and I'm only getting 3-4mb per second.

Appreciate any feedback!

Normal. Likely due to a few reasons:
  • Servers for those updates are busy and/or not prioritized
  • Your new Mac is doing a million things in the background (updates, indexing, etc.)
  • The hampster is getting tired and needs a break
