I recently got a new M2 MacBook Air and I set it to auto login. I now notice the apple logo on boot screen will appear, start to load, move a few inches to the upper left, then return to center before loading. Computer seems to function normally. If it is set to require password this doesn't happen. All my other Macs that are setup to auto login don't do this. Any ideas?

I've never heard of this before... Does it happen if you take off auto login?

Any chance you can post a video?

As far as troubleshooting…

I originally migrated my data from a 2018 pro. I erased my air and started fresh which still creates the issue. I did a safe boot and a disk repair no fix.

Hardware reset parameter reset
I already looked into it. Unfortunately that process doesn’t exist for the m series chip. It uses NVRAM oppose to PRAM. It also automatically checks on boot up and performs when needed on apple silicon.

Reset NVRAM Using Terminal
Step 1. Open Terminal by selecting it from the Finder's Utilities menu: Finder - Terminal.

Step 2. Simply type sudo nvram -c and hit Enter. Once you've input the Administrator password, hit Enter.

This did not resolve issue. Still happens.
