M2 Mac Mini monitor / KVM issues

Hi

I've just bought one of these and I'm impressed by the performance when compared with my 2017 i5 MBP.

However, what's really irritating and potentially a deal breaker is that the keyboard and mouse plugged into the USB hub on my Dell 34" UW are not recognised when I boot up the Mac when the monitor is already on or when the monitor is switched on after the Mac reboots.

I'm using the USB-C input on the monitor. This should just work.

Does anyone have any ideas regarding a fix ?

Ok so someone suggested a firmware update for the monitor and that actually seems to have made all the difference.
