Reference: 15" MacBook Air First Impressions
"I had to return or sell both the 14” MBP and the M2 13” Air because of eye fatigue in using the screens. They have a harshness to them that makes it difficult to focus on over long periods of time. Some people have equated it to the feeling of looking into a flashlight, or a pinching feeling behind your eyeballs. It’s exhausting."

Is the 2015 15" MacBook Pro still good in 2023? Should I buy it to avoid eye strain issue with M chip MacBooks?

I will answer this, as you’re quoting my post: The newest Air will run circles around the 2015, so it really depends on how you’re using a computer to say if your current is “still good” or not. Regarding the eye fatigue, it is extremely personalized - some experience this, others say they have zero issues. You have to buy and try for yourself over an extended period to really know if it affects you.

Besides the issues I have with these screens, I otherwise love this new Air. It’s a wonderful computer.

Really just depends what you're doing

The 2015 15" MBP is still very capable for a lot of normal user tasks
(typing this on one right now, upgraded to Ventura with OCLP -- works like a dream!)

there is no M2 MacBook Air.

Could have fooled us looking at Apple's last couple of keynotes and browsing its web pages! 😎

We now have both 13” and 15” M2 MacBook Airs!

The thread's title and the OP's quote capture it well.
