M2 MacBook Air 16Gb for £780 or M4 MacBook Air for £925?

Which one would you buy? Already have a M1 16" MacBook Pro and looking for something as a portable replacement.

The M4 is obviously the more powerful of the two but in real world is there really going to be that much difference to justify the extra spend?

For £145 extra I would go with M4. Not for any extra power but longer support. I suspect M4 will receive macOS updates longer.

Seems like the right choice. More CPU and GPU, but also a much more powerful NPE, which might be useful if Apple gets Intelligence right.

Laptops Direct on eBay with a £75 offer code.

You can easily get them for £929 everywhere (John Lewis does a 2yr warranty) at the moment but that pushed me over the edge.

I can easily see Apple reverting the base model prices back to the old prices across the world so wanted to get it now 😎
