So basically I bought a used but like new condition m2 MacBook Air off eBay. I was using it for a few weeks and everything seemed fine, however I started to notice two issues:
1. Backlight bleed on the display as per the picture attached. It's pretty noticeable on the top left corner and on the bottom there's also some light bleed which causes white backgrounds to appear shaded in that spot.
2. Bottom plate is not straight, there's a bigger gap on one side compared to the other (picture also attached). Others have had similar issues https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/macbook-air-m2-bent-bottom-plate.2353438/

So I went to the Genius Bar to send it away for a warranty replacement. Whilst the technician was happy to send it away to the depot for a screen replacement, he said that the bottom plate not being straight is enclosure damage. This shocked me, because I've not put the MacBook in any bags and it's always been on my desk. I've also barely used it. From what I've read about the issue it seems like the bottom plate just needs to be reattached for it to be straight. He then turned the MacBook upside and pressed on the corners where the hinge is. The MacBook was not flat and was flexing when pressed. Attached a video of what this looks like. He then compared it with the other MacBooks and they didn't flex. I'm not sure what's causing this because when I look at the MacBook lid it looks straight.

Technician then said that its likely the enclosure damage is what is causing the backlight bleeding since the display cable may be bent. He then said that if the repair technicians are not able to fit the display to the display cable they may charge for a new enclosure which is £500+. The worst case scenarios is if when trying to fit the old display back there may be new display issues that pop up.

I was a bit taken aback by this because I didn't think the issue was that serious. Do you think the technician was overreacting? To me it just seems like a new top case would fix the issue of the lid flexing when pressed and the bottom plate just needs to be reattached. I'm not going to pay for a new enclosure when it's not causing any serious issues. So now I'm doubting whether I should send the MacBook in for replacement if in the worst case scenario it's possible that with the old display reattached, other display issues come up. What do you guys think?

So you bought it used off eBay and claim that it’s build quality issues? I doubt that
