Hi!

Do you know if the M2 Pro in the Mac mini and the M2 Pro in the MacBook Pro will perform (about) the same? It would mainly be used for music production. I know the MBP cost significantly more, but I am just wondering about the performance aspect. Other than price, is there an upside to going with the mini? Thanks so much in advance!

Brian

These are the two options I'm considering:

14" MBP
M2 Pro with 12‑core CPU, 19‑core GPU, 16‑core Neural Engine
32 GB memory
2 TB storage

Mac mini
Apple M2 Pro with 12‑core CPU, 19-core GPU, 16‑core Neural Engine
32 GB memory
2 TB storage

Why would they perform different, considering it’s the same SoC?

Most likely everything will come down to the mobility aspect (do you need a laptop or not) and the connections, as the Mac Mini Pro is a little better equipped in here.
