Starting today, Apple's refreshed MacBook Air models with M3 chips are available for same-day or next-day pickup at Apple Stores, with no pre-order required. Online orders are also beginning to arrive to customers today.

Customers across the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, and other regions can now place an order on Apple's website or in the Apple Store app and arrange for in-store pickup at a local retail location.

To order a product with Apple Store pickup, add the product to your bag on Apple.com, proceed to checkout, select the "I'll pick it up" option, enter your ZIP code, choose an available Apple Store location, and select a pickup date. Payment is completed online, and a valid government-issued photo ID and the order number may be required upon pickup.

In addition to the M3 chip, the new 13-inch and 15-inch ‌MacBook Air models‌ offer Wi-Fi 6E, Voice Isolation and Wide Spectrum microphone modes, enhanced voice clarity in audio and video calls, and a more fingerprint-resistant finish with the Midnight color option. They also now support up to two external displays when the laptop lid is closed, increasing from just a single external display on the previous Apple silicon models.

There are no major external design changes to the M3 MacBook Air models, which continue to be available in Midnight, Starlight, Space Gray, and Silver colors. Pricing for the 13-inch MacBook Air starts at $1,099, while the 15-inch MacBook Air starts at $1,299.

Ordered on 4th, estimated delivery 18th.
Received SMS from Apple today, the M3 10gpu ships today (8th), and delivery 15th, check the link, delivery expected on the 12th! Then immediately UPS sends expected delivery and so I'd say, 12th it is. Great logistics.

Just sold my iPad Pro 12.9", which I used to use mobile, while a MBP16 stays on my desk for heavier work.

I used to use the iPad with the Apple Magic Keyboard etc - and I found I never touched the screen. Always ended up using it like a laptop anyways, and found it a little restricting with some things I wanted to do, hence will go back to full OSX with a MacBook Air 13. Most likely the 16GB/512SSD model considering I get Edu discount. Will use the Air around the house and mobile, and the MBP16 can continue to stay on my desk ;)

No way I'd order something this expensive from Amazon.

100% agree.
I ordered Airpods 3rd Gen from Amazon - direct, not a third party seller.
Almost 2 years later I upgraded my iPhone and could no longer connect my Airpods.
Went to Apple who told me my Airpods looked like astonishingly good clones - in fact they had lots of replacements under the same serial number already! So it was a genuine serial, but cloned on lots of Airpods!

Went back to Amazon after 18 months or so of ownership and complained.
They had the cheek to ask me to send them back in for repair!!!
Told them I didn't want a repair, I wanted an official GENUINE set of Airpods, that I had originally paid for! I had been using clones for teh last 18 months thinking I had purchased legitimate Airpods!

In the end I just got them refunded, and purchased replacements directly from Apple!

I ordered an Apple watch Series 9 from them a few months ago. What I received was a used Apple Watch Series 4. Someone had taken the Series 9 out of the box and put their old Series 4 in there thinking Amazon wouldn't notice, and they didn't (if they even checked what was returned). I filed a claim and returned the watch, and Amazon refused to give me a refund saying that I sent back the wrong watch to them. I couldn't believe it. The very reason I was returning the watch is what I was being accused of doing.

I ended up filing a chargeback with my credit card company. Amazon fought it, and lost. Its why I swear by American Express. They have always done right by me and any time a retailer has given me problems they sort it out for me. Since then I've decided to never order anything expensive from Amazon again.

I do find it interesting in my area at least that the 16/512 models (both 13 and 15 inch in all colors) are all still listed as "Apple Store Pickup is currently unavailable"

Same. The same applies for Best Buy. Based in SoCal.

I've gotten so many fake things from amazon (and this was years ago) that I stopped shopping with them altogether. Same thing as you, it was listed as sale from Amazon but it was fake. (Did you know counterfeit condoms are a thing? I learned that from a purchase on Amazon!)

I'm mad I didn't pre-order at Best Buy, the 16/512 is sold out and I have a large gift card from there I want to use. I guess I'll wait till back in stock hopefully in a week or so.

There is a work around choose 8GB with 512GB and bump the RAM to 16GB. I am picking one up today in VA.

It’s the same here in the UK but if you select the 8/512 model and then upgrade RAM to 16GB then you should see same day pickup in most stores

Why not? It's sold and shipped by Amazon. Plus you can get AppleCare+ as well. They also have a solid return policy (at least for Prime shipments).

Shipped and sold by Amazon doesn't make it any less prone to fraud.

I've thought about this recently myself. I use mine with the Magic Keyboard and only touch the screen every once in a while. I thought I would use my Apple Pencil more but in two years plus it's only been used a few times. I do like to remove it from the keyboard from time to time to watch video but not a big deal. The other factor is my iMac 27. There is no replacement currently. Smaller iMac or a display and Mini/Studio sure but that not a replacement that is an alternative. So, if I go with an alternative I might as well go with the MacBook Air and just replace both.

My rule for Amazon is to not buy name brand goods there. This has been a problem for years, coupled with the invasion of cheap Chinese goods from overnight companies with fake reviews, it's impossible to sort through. Consumables are just as bad too, as I'd come across things like cologne or protein powder even with fake labels taped over, watered down liquids or lacking volume, etc. Even if you get the correct volume though, you're left questioning is this the protein powder I ordered? or some cheap filler? Who knows!

Besides, Apple Pay has made payment so damn easy these days, I can order directly with many companies (even smaller ones) without having to manually type my address, billing info, and so on.

No 16GB models in stock yet. Don't know why Apple even makes any 8GB computers at all anymore.

Still selling the M3 with 8Gb in this day and age, it's unconscionable.

It's like buying a high performance M3 BMW, but the manufacturer took one wheel off to slow it down and make it crash occasionally (yes, crash): https://www.macrumors.com/2023/11/10/8gb-ram-in-m3-macbook-pro-proves-the-bottleneck/

But don't worry, it's still got a super-charged 3 litre, 500 HP engine in it, exactly the same engine as the model which has 4 wheels.

Hey, at least you saved some money for such deliberate inconvenience bestowed upon you by 'BMW', you 'only' paid $100,000 for it rather than $120,000 for the 4 wheel model.

One day, you wake up and eventually realise that 'BMW' are taking advantage of you and of people who cannot afford $120k, they don't really like you, but they want your money regardless. You notice that Mercedes and Tesla cars all have 4 wheels, are as fast as the 'BMW', and several top-end models also cost $100k, so you take your hard-earned money there.

You're very happy driving around in your new Tesla / Mercedes, it does everything that you need it to do. You occasionally a 3 wheeled M3 BMW crashed at the side of the road, but more often than not, you see them struggling going up a hill and around corners. You feel sorry for the drivers, but you smile with the satisfaction that you made the right choice, and you also have $20k in your pocket to treat yourself and your partner.
I just wish they’d stock the 16GB/512GB configuration in store. It’s clearly popular but order only.

Try configuring the mid-tier 8/512 model up to 16GB, worked for me!
Cheese and Crackers you’re right! Just tried that and it’s indeed available. Cancelling my original order with its 3/15-3/22 delivery window and picking one up in store after work.
Thanks!

Enjoy! I'm still blown away by the screen and I've got a 14" MacBook Pro sat next to me!
