Hi,
I have an M3 Pro with Sonoma and an old MBP 13" 2010 with High Sierra (HS).
I had them connected with an ethernet cable and they were communicating: I could access all documents on MBP HS from the Sonoma laptop, and vice versa through the finder > network.
I have an internet hotspot through an iPhone connected by usb cable to the Sonoma laptop, and it was shared with the HS laptop.
It worked like a charm.
Then, suddenly, I could no longer connect both computers, nor share the internet connection.
I contacted Apple’s help desk, but they couldn’t tell anything other than “update your OS”. (I really value the elder people working at Apple who have large experience with older machines and OS but unfortunately most are really young.)

I have been trying to change the network settings on the Sonoma laptop, making ethernet inactive, renewing DHCP releases, but to no avail. (I think to recall that once this helped.) It used to be plug and play but now it gives error all the time, whether I try to connect as guest, with the host account, or with the other mac account.

Is there anybody whose new and old macbook pro do communicate well to share documents, internet and printer?
TIA!
